The Use of Mommy Cards for Kids’ Playdates

Mommy Card

It's back to school and we don't know anyone in the kids classes! I'm wondering how to meet the other children and connect with their parents. Our public school doesn't send out a directory for privacy reasons so I've had to become a detective. I snapped a photo of the class list at open house and have been on a reconnaissance mission to put names and faces to the new classmates I'm hearing about! Our daughter has asked to invite one of her new friends over for a play date and I have no way to contact the parent! I'll send her a message via the PTA parent page on Facebook and maybe even a personal note in the backpack?? Am I the only one who wants to meet the kids and parents in our child's class??? So another question came up....how do I feel about Mommy Cards with personal contact … [Read more...] about The Use of Mommy Cards for Kids’ Playdates

DIY Catnip Garden Oasis Tutorial and 9Lives Coupon Link

Bengal in his Catnip Oasis

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #MorrisKnowsBest #CollectiveBias Variety is the spice of life for everyone, including our pets! Surprise your kitty cat with his/her very own catnip playground and enjoy watching him chew, scratch, roll and sniff to his heart's content. We transformed a shipping box into this catnip garden (works for indoor or outdoor) and our Bengal cat, Boo, has been enjoying it every day since. I want to thank our friends at 9Lives® for inspiring us to create a fun, tutorial for our cat. I must admit...while crafting this catnip garden I wondered if I was going a bit overboard. But now, seeing how much our cat loves it, clearly it was well worth the hour it took me to make it! I hope you will be … [Read more...] about DIY Catnip Garden Oasis Tutorial and 9Lives Coupon Link

Here are some creative ways to pack a lot of punch into a small (and reusable) package with Mother’s Day Mason Jar: Spring into Summer. Summer is right around the corner. Hitting The Sweet Spot – How and When To Allow Sugary Treats

mini chocolate milk

For years you have heard it. If you want to be healthy, cut sugar from your diet. But experts are beginning to elaborate and show us that sugar is not the enemy. Yes, too much sugar can cause problems. Too much anything can cause problems. Even too much water can hurt you. So we have to use sugar with moderation. How did the battle begin? When we look at our diets with the intention of losing weight, we look for ways to cut calories and increase our nutrition. So, when the medical community looked at sugar, they see a few calories but no nutritional value, so they slashed it and moved it to the naughty list. Iceberg lettuce has virtually no nutritional value, but it stayed on our list of things to eat. Why? It is because lettuce is filling and low in calories. It serves a … [Read more...] about Hitting The Sweet Spot – How and When To Allow Sugary Treats

Submit your address online and they will mail you a full color chart of spiders commonly found in USA including the brown recluse, black widow, hobo spider, mouse spider, wolf spider, huntsman and many other spiders with notes to aid in identification and FIRST AID advice for spider bites. When I signed up they emailed me the chart but I'm expecting to receive the hard copy soon, ad says it's A4 size and full color. I love this freebie and am sure it will make for a fun spider-hunting adventure for the kiddos (and hopefully never needed but surely a handy … [Read more...] about Free Spider Chart, Science Fun for Kids

Increase Your Chance of Getting Pregnant: A True Story

at home insemination

This post was written by our hopeful friend and fellow blogger. Let’s call her Jane, a single mommy to-be, living by the beach in Florida. As a single woman, I decided that I did not want to wait any longer to start a family. I began looking for a donor and trying to determine my cycle and best ovulation date. I tried using a thermometer for monitoring basal body temperature (BBT). I tried several brands of ovulation sticks, but never got a positive reading. Once I found a donor the problem then stemmed from timing and me not knowing what day I was ovulating. My first attempt at home insemination was using a syringe and a menstrual cup. It failed. I was a few days late and hopeful, but I did not become pregnant. Using a calendar to track my ovulation window was helpful, but … [Read more...] about Increase Your Chance of Getting Pregnant: A True Story
