It’s back to school and we don’t know anyone in the kids classes! I’m wondering how to meet the other children and connect with their parents. Our public school doesn’t send out a directory for privacy reasons so I’ve had to become a detective. I snapped a photo of the class list at open house and have been on a reconnaissance mission to put names and faces to the new classmates I’m hearing about!
Our daughter has asked to invite one of her new friends over for a play date and I have no way to contact the parent! I’ll send her a message via the PTA parent page on Facebook and maybe even a personal note in the backpack?? Am I the only one who wants to meet the kids and parents in our child’s class???
So another question came up….how do I feel about Mommy Cards with personal contact info? In this digital world I’d prefer not to spend money on this but I suspect it might be a quicker way to share information one you first meet someone. I don’t think I’d give them to the children to pass on for security reasons (wouldn’t want them lying around) but given our situation I’m open to having a few Mommy cards in my purse for the right occasion. Simple content with my name, cell number and first names of our children.
There are so many deals on printing these days so I will keep my eyes open. Even better! I will print them on my home computer. I’ll let you know what kind of reaction I get on this!! YIKES!
Let me know if you’ve used Mommy cards, think they’re goofy or groovy!
