Sticks and Stones… & Medical Bracelets

You can label me a lot of things, a wife, mom, teacher, blogger, student, and even an epileptic but one label I do not want is to be called ” unfashionable”. All my life I have had to wear a medical alert bracelet. I still have my ittty bitty bracelet from when I was a toddler hanging on my key ring.

For years, I wore a tacky bracelet that was simply embarrassing. Recently I went on a search for a more stylish bracelet. It was important to me that if I already had to be “labeled” on sight by someone that atleast I be trendy while they judge me. Of course not everyone will judge or even care about a bracelet but I still worry ( that is just the way I am).

During my search I came across, Medical ID Marketplace, they have 100’s of medical bracelets to choose from. Not just for illness’ but for allergies and other causes plus they are fashionable, trendy and stylish accessories. It’s great for people who are active and health-conscious as well as for those who have an illness that requires them to wear a medical ID (i.e. diabetics, food allergies, etc.) but who do not want to be “branded” by their condition.

I do not talk much about having epilepsy. I am not really sure why… Maybe I should. It isn’t a secret especially now that I have my cute pink bracelet!

Last week, I saw someone who did not wear a medical bracelet anymore because she had the word “diabetic” tattooed on her wrist. I chuckled when you said people don’t want to be “branded” by their condition. That lady was certainly branded! When I saw it, I thought that I would not want my condition tattooed on me.

Just wondering how much one of your diabetic bracelet would cost. The ones from the store keep breaking on me. Thank you.
