Movie nights, game nights, why not karaoke nights? My son can belt it out in the car like no other! I must admit that he knows the lyrics to Adele, Katy Perry, Cyndi Lauper, and Madonna songs probably better than me! I figured what would be more fun that having a night devoted to music! Music is a passion of all the boys in my family so this is a perfect fit for us.
Since the new season of American Idol is just heating up, it’s time to gather the family and spend some fun and cozy nights together! Music, good food and drinks, family… What else does one need?

I’m going to gather my family to watch American Idol. Then after the show, we’ll each pick our favorite song they did that night and sing it for each other.
I would make it even more special by making homemade pizza.

by serving my fave, Diet Coke and regular coke and Sprite for the hubby and kids, along with homemade nachos or tacos, or if feeling lazy I’d do a take out pizza!

When our family plays American Idol, we usually have my nieces and their better half’s joining us (a REAL full house) and we turn down the lights and have the person who is singing sit on a barstool in the center of the room with a light shining overhead. We also play in teams – it’s always the “best” time we have together.
