I always figured that by the time I was 30 I would have my life all figured out…
Ok stop laughing.
On the surface, I look the part, wife of 8 years, mom of two adorable, perfect boys ( ok I am a little biased), a great, if a bit stressful, job, a student, we have enough money to get by, and all that jazz but yet underneath it all I am a legit mess! Don’t get me wrong, I am a happy legit mess!
Yes, I admit it! A mess!
Laundry piles, disorganized & expired coupons, expired food in the back of the fridge, no real idea of “what I want to do with my life”, a couple… More than a couple, extra pounds to lose – I could go on.
I admit I have looked into a life coach in Riverside, California.
Anyone had one? Maybe you are one?
I wonder if it would be possible for a Life coach to turn me into a June Cleaver type of mom that I have always dreamed of? Now I realize that is a lofty goal but how come it seems like others out there are able to cook, clean, work, and play with their kids and I am only able to do a couple of those sort of partially… am I a fraud or are they?
Somedays I can’t even log on to Pinterest because it makes me feal like I should be doing more!
Tell me I am not the only one out there that feels like this! In reality, I know I am not. Life is hard and no one is perfect as much as we want to be. Being a parent, a wife, a student, a teacher and everything we are is tough! Even the word tough is an understatement…

I have been married 19 years & have 2 boys. I know what you feel. My house is a mess, laundry is piled, yardwork needs to be done and everything else goes upside down. But I can’t let it get to me, cause I know that it will be done, and the more important things in my life are my husband and boys. I keep smiling and saying ‘Thank You’. I ususally take a breather and enjoy the little things in life, like smelling the flowers, doing things with my boys, enjoying the view of the snow dusted mountains, and the sparkle of the ocean when I drive over the hill and laughing at myself alot! Little things get me back on track to be myself again. This works for me.
Your comment about logging to Pinterest rang in my head…even now as I dink on my ipad, I sit and fret about the dishes in the sink thehouse that will never make me feel lke I accomplished anything…worrying that I amjust not doing “the deal” for my husband of 17 years….not being the mom that I feel I “should be”…and every Sunday I litterally pray fro God to make me “better”. but, today, as I sat on the couch watching tv woth our boy, sharong a snack and and just being PRESENT IN THE MOMENT…. I remebered that THIS is what the REAL deal is…being present in the moment…talking…loving and laughing. And with a 3 day weekend looming on the horizion this weekend…and I have a bunch on my never ending to-do list… I think what I will most seek out to do, is hit the movies with our boy and maybe get some ice cream too! HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND AND REEEEELAX!!
