Creating Birthday Memories That Will Last a Lifetime at Disneyland!

disney memories 1

One of my goals of motherhood is to create memories for my boys that will last forever. So when my son’s birthday rolled around in April and I asked him what he wanted to do the most in the whole world for his birthday I wanted to be sure I could deliver. His request – “Disneyland!”. Lucky for me I could do that! We live not to far from there. Now the mission was to create the perfect “memorable” birthday day at Disneyland for my 5 year old. Lucky for me,  Disneyland is all about creating lifelong memories for it’s guests.

Here are my tips on how to make your birthday visit to Disneyland memorable!

disney birthday pin

– First things first, stop of and pick up a birthday pin at City Hall on Main Street when you enter the park. All you have to do is say it is you birthday and they will give you a pin to wear. Then all day long all the Disneyland staff will greet your little one with “Happy Birthday”. Boy Oh Boy did this make my little guys day! He felt so important!

-  Make plans for a "My Disneyland Birthday Party" at Disneyland Park’s Plaza Inn! Join your host, Pat E. Cake, for a happy, fun-filled celebration featuring music, merriment, laughter and cake decorating — with a special appearance by Mickey and Minnie Mouse. All Guests receive a party hat, souvenir sipper cup, mini birthday cake, icing and cake toppings. Reservations can be made in person at Plaza Inn, City Hall and at Guest Relations information kiosks, or by phone when you call the Disney Dine Line at (714) 781-DINE or (714) 781-3463. The price: is $15.99 per person (subject to change of course)

– While you are on Main Street you might as well head a little farther to the end of the street and take a family photo in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Of course this is the quintessential photo when you are at Disneyland. Talk about a memory of a lifetime!

birthday mouse ears

– Of course, I also recommend picking up a pair of Mouse Ears… maybe a special birthday pair is in order!

– Also, if your little one has an autograph book and they are wearing their birthday pin then the characters around the park will write a special birthday greeting to them in the book! SO make sure to grab one of those too!

– In 2011, Disney guests will become the stars of a nightly spectacular when photos taken in the park during the day become larger-than-life projections on  “it’s a small world” at Disneyland Resort. This groundbreaking new experience celebrates the family vacation memories created in Disney theme parks every day.

How to be part of the show: Photopass cast members will be taking photographs of park guests as they enjoy their day at the parks. As guests pose with characters and family, the Photopass photographer will be submitting their photograph to be used in the new show; “The Magic, The Memories, and You!”.

Check out the video of “The Magic, The Memories, and You” show below it is spectacular!

Some of our Trip Highlights:

creating disney memories

My 5 year old had a very memorable trip to say the least! He really enjoyed the Disney Junior Live Show at California Adventure. He had his first ride on Tower of Terror and that was truly memorable for both of us! I can’t believe my little boy was tall enough to go on this ride not to mention brave enough! He was actually laughing at the end. Me on the other hand… I was holding his hand so tight, I thought I may have hurt him. “Deal”icious Dad enjoyed our dinner at The Blue Bayou and I loved the atmosphere. The price tag on the dinner is a bit more than other restaurants at the park but the setting is so much fun! My favorite part you ask… the memories, they were truly priceless!

“Deal”icious Mom’s disclosure: I did receive tickets to the park in exchange for this review. My opinions remain 100% my own. This post was not edited or reviewed by anyone.
