2 out of 3 dads say they rather receive no gift than the traditional neck tie this Father’s Day. That’s according to survey results just released by TechBargains.com, the largest deal site for consumer electronics. The survey asked dad what they want to receive for Father’s Day and asked others what they plan to get dad for his designated day. Here are some of the highlights:
· TV vs. NBA Finals Tickets. 82% of Fathers prefer to receive a state of the art TV rather than floor seats at the NBA Finals.
· Dinner with Family vs. Man Cave. 87% of Fathers prefer to have dinner with their families rather than a night alone in their man cave.
· Tech Gadgets Are the Most Wanted Gift. Nearly half of all dads surveyed say they would want a tech gadget over any other gift this Father’s Day.
· Dads don’t get as much as Moms. On average people spend about $43 on Father’s Day gifts. That is 40% less than the $76 average spent on Mother’s Day gifts.
· Daughters vs. Sons. About one in five daughters will get dad a tech gift while one in four sons won’t get dad a gift at all.
