In the last couple years I have received many “Save the Date” cards for upcoming weddings and I got to thinking back to my wedding 8 years ago. I can not remember if I sent one or not? I guess I must of since my mother in law was very “by the book”. I also thought were these even around then? I guess they must have been, right?
I like the whole idea behind save the date cards. It gives me time to prepare, find an outfit, buy a gift, get a babysitter, or simply make sure I keep the date open in my calendar. They are a nifty little idea actually.
Hopefully I sent one out (sorry everyone if I didn’t!). I will have to ask around and see if I was on top things amoungst all the chaos of planning my wedding…which if I must say was the best wedding of ALL TIME!
A while back my friend actually sent one that was a magnet which I thought was very original. I slapped that baby right on my fridge and I never forgot that day was approaching! I would recommend magnet save the date cards to anyone getting married.
So what about you, do you plan to send one, did you send one, do you think they are handy, helpful or just plan pointless?
