Look Out Goodwill! Here I Come! #7DaysofSpringCleaning

It’s that time of year again. Spring Cleaning! Time to get my house reset, reorganized and removed of clutter. All year long I let things slide a little too much and then all of a sudden spring cleaning hits and I am swamped with items to donate! Goodwill is my favorite place to make a donation because it’s so easy to drive up and drop off right from the trunk of my car.

Here’s an awesome Spring Cleaning plan that will get me going! Check out How to Clean Your Home AND Create Jobs by Goodwill Industries International on Snapguide where you can discover how-to guides on all your favorite topics.

My plan is to finish up all my spring cleaning during my week off from work. Check it out:

#7DaysofSpringCleaning Details:

I will be focusing on cleaning different areas of my home for seven consecutive days. I know, I know, it sounds like too much work but it has to be done!Goodwill_FB_SpringCleaning_FINAL4.indd

Day 1) Clear your closet clutter

Day 2) Time to tackle the kitchen

Day 3) Spread holiday cheer (holiday decorations, center pieces, Halloween)

Day 4) Downsize your tech toys (used laptops)

Day 5) Clean out your office supplies

Day 6) Provide quality entertainment (unused movies, video games)

Day 7) Downsize your bookshelf

Then head over and donate all your items to  a Goodwill Donation Center. Before you go you can even see how much of an impact your donation will have on your community by using the Goodwill’s Donation Impact Calculator.  Your donation of used clothing or household goods to Goodwill helps create jobs directly in your community.

That’s right: Donate Stuff. Create Jobs.

This is where I had planned to show you a picture of my messy closet or overstuffed garage and then show you how much I was going to donate but I got a bit ashamed of all my clutter. Just imagine a closet with clothes of all shapes and sizes exploding out of it and a garage with no room for anything else, especially not a car! If you can picture that then your have a good idea of how much work I have ahead of me and how much I have to donate to the Goodwill!

So as much as I hate cleaning of any shape or kind, I do love that my donations help my community and help people get and keep jobs! Definitely consider cleaning out your messiest places and donating some items to your local Goodwill!

This post was made possible through the support of Goodwill. All opinions are my own.
