A while back I posted about 10 Yummy Edible Playdough Recipes and learned that many Moms were grateful to find a solution for little ones who still put everything in their mouths!
Here’s a simple, new recipe for you to add to that list which is not only food-safe for your child it also has a sweet, delicious, fruity smell!! Yum! This makes playing with play dough even more sensory for your child! Enjoy it!
Fruity Edible Play-dough Recipe
Ingredients
1 package of Kool-Aid
1 cup salt
3 cups flour
2 Tbsp cornstarch
2 tsp vegetable oil
1 cup cold water

Directions
In a large mixing bowl combine the water, salt and oil. In a seperate bowl combine the flour, Kool-Aid and cornstarch. Gradually add the flour mixture into the water mixture, stirring with a rubber spatula as you go. Once everything is mostly mixed in you can begin to work the mixture with your hands until its the consistency of bread dough. Roll into a large loaf or ball and you’re read to play!! Store in an airtight container.
{ Toddler Tip } To keep the play as fresh (and germ-free) as possible I slice off one chunk and give it to my child to enjoy for that particular play session. Then I toss that play dough (if it gets really gunky) or I can roll it into a ball and store in a second storage container.
Making play dough is always one of our favorite things to do together!! And as you can see in the photos we have many colors of edible play dough that get mixed together!
