‘Tis the season for a sweet I Do! Imagine a simple ceremony in your hometown chapel followed by champagne, mini wedding cakes and peppermint hot chocolate. It’s an intimate, holiday-style celebration during the most wonderful time of the year! To create this jovial scene we wedding paired bright red, lime green and geometric patterns: it’s a whimsical spin on traditional Christmas colors.
The key to our DIY decorating strategy was to adorn just about everything with fresh flowers, including the toasting flutes! The combination of roses and green hypericum berries was our solution to finding blooms that are easy to work with and budget-friendly. We used spray roses for the mini cakes, flower necklaces, hair accessories and ring bearer pillow. But we couldn’t resist splurging on something extraordinary for the bride herself. Candy Cane Amaryllis is a gorgeous, trumpet-style bloom reminiscent of peppermint with its red and white stripes. Even though it’s in season, Amaryllis is still one of the more expensive blooms so we reserved it as the signature flower for the bridal bouquet, and a few accents such as the groom’s boutonniere.
The wedding ceremony aisle was decorated with fresh rose petals in the shape of large candy canes. Miniature stockings filled with rose petals are set out for wedding guests to toss at the new couple. A Christmas tree invites guests to write and hang wedding wishes for the couple (a play off the traditional wedding guest book). It’s a delightful inspiration with many fun details for brides-to-be who love the spirit of the season! The holidays are here and we hope you were nice (and not naughty) this year! Have yourself a MARRY little Christmas.
