I can’t believe that the time has come here on “Deal”icious Mom for me to review preschool snacks. I simply can not seem to wrapped my mind around the fact that I have a little boy in preschool already but alas I do and I must feed him 🙂 Although like many 3 1/2 year olds, he is a bit of a picky eater. He will go on what I call “streaks” where he will only eat certain foods no matter what I do to try to get him to eat other ones. For a while (and I am embarrassed to admit this) he would only eat corndogs. Then he would only eat Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup but through it all he would always eat Gerber Graduate meals. He loves them, which is a good thing for me, since they are relatively well balanced (maybe a little high in sodium) but overall a good choice for him in my opinion.
Recently, the good people of Gerber sent him some of their new Gerber Preschooler snacks and you would have thought it was Christmas again at our house. My son saw the familiar yellow packaging and he wanted to eat all three of the bars, cereal, and fruit twists immediately. I could not keep him out of the pantry. I am happy he found a snack that he likes that also has some nutritional value but seriously this kid went bonkers over these things!
Anyway, I would recommend you have you preschool age child give these a try if you have a picky eater in your house because they were a slam dunk in my house. You can read all about the nutritional value and reasons why I believe them to be a benefit to my son and possibly your child compared to some of the other snacks out there on the market in the product descriptions below. Of course these snacks are no replacement for fruits and veggies but a nice treat once in a while never hurt anyone did it?
Product Descriptions:
Fruit Twists are real fruit snacks that are perfect for on the go snacking – best of all they are made with 99% real concentrated fruit and juice and provide ½ of a preschooler serving of fruit per twist as well as 25% of the daily preschooler amount of antioxidant vitamin C. The great thing about these Fruit Twists, is that your child can pull them apart and eat one flavor at a time, or eat them both at once, combining the two flavors. Either way, your child can choose what they like best!
Cereal Twists are made with whole grains and two flavored yogurt fillings. Each cereal bar is individually wrapped for convenient on-the-go snacking and comes in three delicious flavors: Strawberry Blueberry, Banana Peach and Raspberry Vanilla.
Chewy Granola bars are made with whole grain rolled oats and wheat flakes for a unique soft texture that preschoolers love – they’re naturally flavored and provide 10% daily value for 4 vitamins and minerals. They have 6g of whole grains per bar and have no preservatives or artificial flavors.

My 16-month-old daughter loves the fruit twists! We haven’t tried the granola bars, or cereal bars, but I would highly reccomend the fruit twists!

I’m so glad they make foods like this now. It will make it so much easier when I have kids! I remember not having a lot of options to give the kids I was babysitting for (at least not a lot of options they wanted!!).
Those fruit twist look REALLY good!! My son would be so excited if I brought those home!!! I’ve never seen any of those products before, thanks for sharing about them!!
I’m all for anything healthy that will get a picky eater to eat. Every family needs to have a go-to snack and Gerber is such a long-known, trusted brand!
Oh my goodness I needed stock in the Gerber Grads. I used to get so excited every time a new coupon came out. 🙂 I used them all. My kids love Gerber grads (I do too. hee hee). 🙂
I’ve actually never seen those ones before, I wonder if we have them here in Canada yet. My oldest is the pickiest eater ever and I think he would like the looks of these!
I fed my kids Gerber Graduates when they were toddlers… in fact, my youngest loved their fruit snacks so much, even when she was 5 or 6 she’d ask for Gerber ones instead of other brands!
My daughter loves these! Thanks for the great review! 🙂
