Internet Safety for Parents

internet safetyOur mobile devices have certainly granted us the opportunity to make some spectacular savings online. But seeing as we can now pay for groceries or even visit a casino with a mere smartphone, we should also be aware of the various risks that each activity entails.

The main thing to realize is that, although your digital device may be most commonly used in the safety of your home, that doesn’t mean that you will be the only person using it. And the internet is full of stories about little hands that have managed to run up some staggering bills using their parents’ iPads.

One of the most common ways that this can happen is through the sneaky way that many games developers now include in-app purchases on a range of games that are aimed at kids. And unfortunately, many children fail to realize that such purchases actually involve real money!

The topic has certainly caused a tremendous amount of anger amongst many parents across the country, with even Kanye West suffering one of his legendary meltdowns as a result of his child being exposed to the tempting likes of in-app purchases.

Of course, as adults use the internet for a huge array of activities from eCommerce to online banking, it’s always a good idea to implement a few safety checks for your own affairs too. Even the government have issued online safety advice to stop our digital information falling into the wrong hands.

This is especially important as it’s not just children’s games that can cause issues, as even online casino sites such as Lucky Nugget Casino have had to provide safety guidelines for its users so that they can enjoy the comprehensive range of table games and a bonus too without worrying about the consequences of the device falling into the wrong hands.

The site’s advice includes a few simple measures, including making sure that you never leave your computer unattended in a room when casino software is running, and being sure to password-protect your device at all times.

We’ve all suffered from forgetting a password every now and then, but that doesn’t mean that we should pick one that’s too simple. So rather than setting yourself a password that’s easy to guess, be sure to keep changing passwords and write them down in a place that’s nowhere near your computer.

And finally, most internet service providers will provide support in installing parental controls to make sure that children don’t access inappropriate material, should they somehow manage to bypass your Fort Knox-like security system.

So whether you’re using your brand new tablet to access some great new fashion styles, or are merely checking out the latest casino games on your smartphone, be sure the follow these procedures to ensure adequate online safety for your whole family.

Our mobile devices have certainly granted us the opportunity to make some spectacular savings online. But seeing as we can now pay for groceries or even visit a casino with a mere smartphone, we should also be aware of the various risks that each activity entails. Be sure to follow these procedures to ensure adequate online safety for your whole family. #safety #online #internet #parentingtips #parenting
