I am in love! I know I say that a lot on this blog but honestly I do not usually write about things that I do not truly love!

I was recently introduced to the SodaStream, rather reluctantly I might add. I kept hearing about how “green” it was and how it was just as good if not better than brand name soda. I did not believe it. I am a huge soda fan. Usually at meal times, I am looking forward to my glass of soda more than the actual meal! The SodaStream is going to save us a lot of money and their will be a lot less bottles being wasted in our house too! My husband is personally happy not to have to run out to the store or gas station at all hours of the day just to get soda… I know, I know how horrible is that!

SodaStream company that makes home carbonation systems, 30 different flavored soda types, carbonating bottles and CO2 gas.

You just pour cold tap water into the device, press a button a few times to force the CO2 into the water (adjust for your taste in fuzziness) and you have a liter of seltzer water. If you want to make soda or flavored water you simply add a capful of sodamix or flavor essence, screw back on the cap, tip the bottle gently to mix in the mix (not shaking remember it is a carbonated drink) and VOILA! you’re all set to drink!

After receiving my review machine and mixes, it did take me a view attempts to get my soda to the proper carbonation level for my liking but now I am a happy camper! I have learned some great tips on how to use the machine from other bloggers.

For example:

• use the coldest water you can get because it holds the carbonations the best.
• Pour the sodamix in slowly to the carbonated water because otherwise it fizzes over and your will have a mess on you hands.
• Tip the bottle when you are pouring in the mix, again to avoid a mess.

How Does SodaStream Help the Environment?

SodaStream is an “Active Green” product, meaning that consumers  are actively reducing their CO₂ footprint every time they make soda  or sparkling water at home instead of buying it from the store. The more the system is used on a daily basis, the more CO₂ footprint the user actively saves. Because SodaStream uses water straight from the tap, the system makes traditional store-bought beverage bottles obsolete. That means less plastic manufactured, less plastic waste is created, and fewer bottled beverages must be transported from manufacturers to distributors to stores to homes.

Oh and one last thing! Soda from the SodaStream machine is way better for you than regular sodas and energy drinks! When compared to other sodas, SodaStream has less calories, carbs, sugar, sodium and caffeine! I feel so much better drinking SodaStream drinks that regular soda! Go ahead compare your favorite soda to SodaStream sodas.

My Final Two Cents:

There are some many pluses to using the SodaStream machine, especially if you love soda or sparkling water as much as I do. It is earth friendly, better for you and cost effective! I can honestly say I love the taste of all the flavors that I have had a chance to try so far. I have noticed that the carbonation does go a little quickly from the soda but since I drink it rather quickly this does not bother me. Although the initial price of the unit is pricey, I do believe that in long run you will save a lot of money since you are not buying soda (and helping the planet!)
