It occurred to me the other day that I might not be best role model for my children. This occurred to me when we were cruising down the road with Lady Gaga’s song, Boys Boys Boys blaring on the radio and my son singing it at the top of his lungs from the back seat.This song is currently his top request. He literally knows all the words to many of Lady Gaga’s songs…. I am blushing in embarrassment! My current fave is Billionaire by Travie McCoy. So needless to say these songs are not really very kid friendly… ok they are not TuPac or Dr. Dre but they definitely don’t sing with four year old ears in mind

This is when I decided to make my music a little more kid (ok a lot more) kid friendly but I did not want to sacrifice my music style either – yes I admit, I am a bit selfish (a lot selfish, you be the judge!). Anyway, I found Kidz Bop CDs when I was searching for Travie McCoy on Amazon and I found out there was a much more kids friendly version of my song on the Kidz Bop 18 CD.

For me the heavens opened when I checked out the track list:

As you can se there are remakes of songs by Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Travie McCoy and so many more! The great thing is that these songs are sung by kids for kids so they are all appropriate for little ears but they still have the same appeal (at least in my humble opinion) as the real songs we all know and love! It is a win/win!

I feel so much better now… I can go back to enjoying my music with a good conscience (at least for now!)
