With Earth Day on a few days away I thought I would share a great DVD to help bring awareness to our rainforests and it’s inhabitants. Yes, it is a children’s DVD but honestly sometimes I learn the most from children’s DVDs and this is one of those times.

Here’s My Two Cent’s:

I found this DVD to be very educational because it teaches children about what happens when our rainforests are destroyed and what happens to the creatures that reside in it. Since I am a teacher, I am always thinking about what would make great resources for the classroom and I think this would make a great Earth Day resource for young students.
I truly enjoyed the bright colors and wonderful puppets in, In The Song of the Cloud Forest. On the downside, in the title story the background was incredibly fake and the use of green screen was terrible. Although the story was very thought provoking, the execution and quality was poor. So please stick through the first story because it gets much better! I found the episodes of The Animal Show and The Fraggle Rock story is much better quality and very entertaining for both me and my son. More importantly though, they were very educational and I believe my son understood the importance behind the stories.

This DVD is an important addition to any family collection in my opinion!
