Help Me Think Of Creative Family Reading Night Ideas & Win a VTech V.Reader – Closed

family reading night

We have been challenged this week. The challenge is to think of creative ways to create, a Family Reading Night – a special family event where everyone in the family will gather to spend some quality time reading, and where young kids can read animated stories with their V.Reader (if you have one and if not you can enter to win one below!)

Here is my idea for my Family Reading Night. I know that one of my son’s favorite times to read is when his Nana set up the tent in her backyard and they get in and read. So I thought we could create a Summer Reading Fort once a week and we could cook up his favorite meal (chili dogs in a bowl) then we could eat up our food in the tent as a family and then read with flashlights. I remember when I was a kid reading by flashlight made it so much more exciting!

What do you think food, a fort, and flashlight reading, do you think that would be a good time?

On to the Giveaway:

vreader

I have a V.Reader and a game to go with it to giveaway to one of my lovely readers.

MANDATORY ENTRY: I read to my daughter every single night before she falls sleep in bed at night. I will read an entire story and if my daughter is still awake after I finish, my daughter then reads me the story according to the pictures because she doesn’t know how to read, yet.

  29. We already have a family reading time/night. My kids love books, so getting them to read is no problem. We usually have quite/reading time three times a week. We turn off all distractions and we spend time as a family reading. My daughter is 8 yrs. old and she is just starting to read. She is behind in her reading skills because she has Autism. She loves to be read to though and she will spend hours looking at books.

Since everyone is grown, we don’t have a family reading night, but it is not uncommon for all those in the house to be engrossed in a book, whether in their own room or together in the living room.

Have lots of different books to choose from. Maybe read in different, fun places. Also, maybe you could do a craft or cooking project that goes with the book.

We make it more like an acting script. There a reader of the different characters. And we act out the book. Its a blast
