I had a very big mommy weekend and my Palm Pre helped me through it step by step! This last weekend my oldest son ( almost 4 years old, we call him “Beefaroni” – “Beef” for short) had his first Tee-Ball game. I was a total mess! My baby was growing up way too soon!
Emotionally it all started when my new Palm Pre Plus told me (via my calendar) that his game was scheduled for the next morning. I simply could not wrap my mind around it. I (and I am ashamed to admit this) secretly wished for the game to get rained out. So I jumped onto the internet on my Palm Pre Plus which I managed to pry out of my husbands hands for a few minutes
to check the weather. It was suppose to rain but not until a little after his early morning game! Darn, I guess I would have to deal with these emotions now instead of putting them off like I wanted to!
So speeding ahead to the next day. GAME DAY! I am running behind trying to get my younger one bundled up to go watch his big brother play in his first game and my husband tells me that he is taking “Beef” ahead to the game! Ok, I think, I still have time to prepare. Of course, I don’t think about the fact that I have no idea where the field is that he is playing at before they rush out the door! So I text my husband on the Palm Pre Plus and he responds with the address of the field. So off me and “Squeaker” (my younger son, 8 months) go to cheer on “Beef”!
I get in the car after having used Google maps on my Palm to get the directions to the field. I drive to the fields, only to find out that there is zero parking anywhere near the field! I guess a good mom would have thought of that and arrived early! I drove in circles for what seemed like forever and eventually had to pull over and stop to use Google maps again just to find my way back to the fields because I had to drive so far around to get parking! So I parked,
we walked, and I got to the game. We cheered, I texted and emailed pictures of my precious (much to big) baby hitting, running, and having a great time!
Not a tear was shed (surprisingly!). I could not have been more proud of him!
BUT I do not think I would have ever made it there without my Palm Pre. Did you read how much it did for me in this whole ordeal?
My Palm Pre Plus:
- reminded me about the game on my calendar
- checked the weather for me
- texted my husband for directions
- got me turn by turn direction to the all park and again when I got lost
- let me celebrate my “mommy pride” during the game by texting, Facebooking, Twittering, and sending pictures.
All without breaking a sweet! I love my Palm Pre. Seriously I am not sure what I would do without a cell phone…

My name is Sara, I am a wife, a mom to 2 jokers also known as my little boys (a 5 year and 2yr old!), and a Special Education High School teacher...not sure I have room for anything else but I sure can try!

Yes the Palm Pre does rock and it certainly keeps me on schedule! Thanks for the cute story!
