In one of my last posts I was talking about how I am always on the lookout for new and fun things to keep my little ones busy while hopefully not rotting their brains. I don’t rely very much on videos or tv to keep them occupied and when I do I am there with them to narrate and interact with them. And when we do watch videos I prefer to introduce them to things that are at least SLIGHTLY educational as well as fun.
I have found a great new web series called Gombby’s Green Island that I have been sharing with other parents and wanted to share with you.
A little bit about Gombby…
Green Island is home to Gombby, Strawy, Celeste and all their friends! Wheat fields, woods and wonderful caves to explore are the backdrop to their adventures and discoveries all over the island. Gombby, the little baker boy, loves to take the lead in those adventures. The answers to life’s big questions, the mysterious Bugaboo or the Green Island funfair – are just some of the stories that Gombby and his friends live through as they learn about the world around them. Re and Mi – two fabulously colored birds – regularly accompany them on their adventures and Gadget Man never ceases to be their favorite inventor, inventing curiosities such as gravity simulators, paint-making machines or Ferris wheels. Green Island, a world where Gombby and his friends learn about the importance of friendship and sharing. A pro-social series – but not just that. Gombby’s Green Island builds children’s general knowledge and gives them confidence to make healthy lifestyle choices too.
The videos are really fun and have a great positive message about values we would all like to instill in our kids.

They have also released an app for Gombby for the Iphone and IPad so you can have access at your fingertips anywhere you are.

There is so much content out there these days for our kids. Just wanted to share something that we recently discovered. Hope you enjoy it as much as we are.
