Doctor Says No More Bottle… Now What?

tommeetippeesippy2 Squeaker Man went to the doctors on Friday and I already knew what was coming. The doctor said, no more bottles as soon as possible! Squeaker Man seems ok with this idea, thanks to his Tommee Tippee Sippy Cup but honestly mommy is not so ready to say good-bye to the bottle! I love holding my little guy and cuddling while he drinks his bottle but I guess mom has to do what the doctor recommends.

It took me awhile to find a sippy cup that he would take too and luckily he likes the Tommy Tippee I finally found at Babies R Us. I have also seen them at ToysRus as well. I really like the whole line of Tommee Tippee products. We have used the bottle for Squeaker since he was a very little and been very happy. The great thing about Tommee Tippee product is that they are all clearly labeled for your child’s developmental stage so you know when he/she is ready to use them. I have found this so helpful.

weaningbowl I was also sent some cool feeding accessories that can really help if you have a little one like mine, who enjoys making meal time a HUGE party time. Squeaker Man really enjoys dumping out his food on his tray and on the floor… or his head depending on the day! So these new easy stick mats and weaning bowls with lid and spoon make your life a little easier! They are all BPA free and they stick to any surface. Basically this mat sticks to your baby’s tray so they can’t dump their bowl of food out! Then you take the weaning bowl that you just heated up and attach it to the tray and you are set…less stress, less mess. Yippee!

We used the Think baby sippy as a transition from breast/bottle to hard spout sippy! It worked really well, he still uses them, and likes straws, but can use a regular sippy too!

I wasn’t sad, DH was the main cup giver while I was working. I still breastfeed, so we still have good (sometimes) quiet time. He’s 15 months now, so there is important toddler stuff to do!

Iwasnt sad; I saw it as another milestone in her development.

Truthfully, when I took my son off the bottle I was teaching full time, working on my master’s degree, taking care of two young kids and my mom who was dying of cancer. It was one of those periods of my life I only vaguely remember.
But I’m glad Squeaker loves his new sippy cup!

I was a bad Mom and lied until I was ready for them to give up the bottle. When they were ready it went smooth I guess. I still prefer sippy cups for my daughter. This one looks great!
