Prep & Landing Out Now on DVD

       In our house we like to do our own 25 days of Christmas with a mix of shows, movies and specials from new to old. Recently we watched Disney’s Prep & Landing on DVD and I have to say that it will be added to our rotation! It is very fun and great for the holiday spirit!
My oldest (5 years old) is right about the perfect age for it. My youngest (2 years old) did not pay much attention to it. All though he did like some of the bonus material. He really liked the Entertaining Elf training videos shot in Santa’s workshop. These include:

– Kringle Academy Equipment Training

– Academy Do’s and Don’ts

One note though, when going out to purchase this, keep in mind that it is only 22 minutes long. It is fun and great to have in your holiday collection but look for a good deal on it since it is only a short episode. The DVD retails for $19.99 but I found it for $13 today on Amazon

Synopsis:
Prep & Landing is anadorable holiday story about ahigh-tech team of elves who ensure homes around the world are properly preparedfor their visit from Santa. After working for a tireless 227 years, an elfnamed Wayne (voiced by Dave Foley) is upset when he doesn’t receive an expectedpromotion. December 2nd : Jake and the Never Land Pirates Holiday Episode (#JakePirates)

I am sure you all can relate, getting a song stuck in your head for hours, even days on end! The Jake and the Never Land Pirates theme song is like that for me. I hear it and it is there for days. I find myself humming it at work and in the car… basically every where.

Not sure what Jake and the Never Land Pirates is? You don’t want to miss it if you have a 2-5 year old in the house! You can find it on Disney Junior and it is a music-filled interactive treasure hunt whereJake and the Never Land Pirates introduces a crew of kid pirates – leader Jake and pals Izzy and Cubby – and follows their Never Land adventures as they work to outwit  two infamous characters, the one and only Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, from Disney’s classic “Peter Pan.” Along the way, they model teamwork, problem-solving and physical activity, earning gold doubloons as they conquer a variety of tasks. The series features original “pirate rock” music performed by Sharky and Bones of The Never Land Pirate Band.

As I mentioned in the title of the post coming up next for Jake and the Never Land Pirates is a December holiday episode, to be followed in January by the debut of the first-ever 45-minute series special and season two of the series.

My boys were lucky enough to get a sneak peak at the holiday episode and I can tell you it does not disappoint! The were mezmorized by the whole episode! I am a fan of the music from the show, it is quite catchy. we have the soundtrack CD and we play it in the car A LOT!

In the holiday episode of Jake and the Never Land Pirates, titled It’s A
Winter Never Land! / Hook On Ice, Jake, Izzy and Cubby awake to find
that Peter Pan has left the crew some presents and a tree to celebrate
Winter Treasure Day, and Captain Hook invites Jake and the crew on a
winter treasure hunt.

The episode premieres FRIDAY, DECEMBER 2 (8:30-9:00 a.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

Set your DVR because this is one you will want to play over and over all through out the holidays!

Too Much Winnie the Pooh?

Is there such a thing? If you ask my two year old he will defiantly say “NO” and I would have to agree! It seems to have become a nightly ritual that we come home and as my boys and I do our nightly chores (dinner, bathes, etc.), Winnie the Pooh plays in the background. This is the first movie my youngest has ever requested. He actually would have it on constant repeat if it was possible.

We all know all the songs by heart. If I had to choose a favorite, I would pick he Tummy Song because it makes my boys giggle. One of he bonus features is to enable “sing along” with the movie which we all love (and I am sure is a site to see!)

I have to admit that after watching this moving close to 50 times (or more) I still love it and I can not say that about many kids (or adult) movies!

By the way in case you did not figure this out already which I am sure you did, Winnie the Pooh is available on DVD now!

The big hit of the party was the HEXBUG Larva! These guys are cool! They sense and avoid objects and they are simply fasicinating. I think these would be fun stocking stuuffers. If you do plan to gift these though, make sure to through in some extra batteries because kids burn through them fast!

Look out for some special holiday themed HEXBUGs at Christmas time too!

As a mom of two boys and a wife to a football coach, I am sure you can imagine that keeping my carpets clean is a constant chore for me. Mud is being tracked in on a daily basis by one person or another. No matter how hard I try I simply can not keep my carpets up to par. I have scoured the shelves looking for a product that is fast and effective for all the items that end up ground in to my carpet on what seems like a daily basis.
