I always struggle with Father’s Day gifts…
I never know what to get either my husband or my father. My father can buy whatever he wants for himself, and my husband wants nothing or something that is WAY out of my price range. We basically gave up getting gifts for each other a long time ago. Still, I like my son to get my husband something because I think it is important for him to pick out a gift for his dad and appreciate him. My husband is a fantastic father, by the way.
Father’s Day gifts always seem to be divided into the categories of golf and BBQ. And while my husband plays golf and grills, I can’t say he would really want anything from EITHER of those categories.
I’d love to get him an iPad because as much as he insists he doesn’t want one, he is always, always taking mine away from me. But I don’t think he would be that happy if I spent that much money.
When buying a Father’s Day gift, I think it is important to think about what kind of gift your husband/partner/dad/significant other/father of your child/recipient would like. Does hegarden? Play video games? Want a really, reallynice camera? Love to read?
My husband loves to cook, and one of his favorite gifts ever was LeCreuset cookware and a cookbook he now lives by. Make it from the kids and add a cooking with the kids’ cookbook for an inclusive gift.
But maybe he hates to cook and loves TV shows or movies. You could try to find an oldmovie or a favorite TVseries out on DVD. Got a sports nut? Tickets to a game are always a great idea, or evenabookaboutsports.
My own father loves wine, so I’m thinking a couple bottles of really nicewine will be the answer for him. For my husband, I still have no idea.
