Help Slow the Melt with Popsicle ( Giveaway w/ 5 Winners) – Closed

I know that you probably don’t sit around all day thinking of ways to stop the polar ice caps from melting but thankfully Popsicle is!

Popsicle® is partnering with National Geographic Kids™ to help Slow the Melt. Whether it’s shutting off the lights every time they leave the room or turning off the water while brushing their teeth, there are very easy steps kids can take to help. In fact, National Geographic Kids™ created 10 simple things kids can do every day to help slow the melt of the polar ice caps!

As part of the Popsicle® and National Geographic Kids™ partnership to help Slow the Melt, this summer Popsicle® will utilize Twitter to help raise funds for research and exploration efforts to help decrease the impact of global climate change by encouraging Twitter users to include the #SlowTheMelt hashtag in their Tweets. Through August 15, 2010, every Tweet containing the hashtag #SlowTheMelt, Popsicle® will donate $1, up to $25,000, to the National Geographic™ Polar Fund for every Tweet containing the hashtag #SlowTheMelt, Funds raised will support research and exploration efforts of the polar ice caps and global warming issues.

As a parent, you know more than anyone it’s not easy to plan a family vacation; that’s why Popsicle wants to plan one for you. This summer, Popsicle is hosting the Anything’s Possible Popsicle sweepstakes and giving away three spectacular, pre-planned family vacations: a dolphin dive in Florida, Space Camp in Alabama and a dinosaur dig in Wyoming.

Kidz Bop CDs– All The Cool Songs With None of the Nasty Language! (Giveaway 2 Winners) – Closed

It occurred to me the other day that I might not be best role model for my children. This occurred to me when we were cruising down the road with Lady Gaga’s song, Boys Boys Boys blaring on the radio and my son singing it at the top of his lungs from the back seat.This song is currently his top request. He literally knows all the words to many of Lady Gaga’s songs…. I am blushing in embarrassment! My current fave is Billionaire by Travie McCoy. So needless to say these songs are not really very kid friendly… ok they are not TuPac or Dr. Dre but they definitely don’t sing with four year old ears in mind

This is when I decided to make my music a little more kid (ok a lot more) kid friendly but I did not want to sacrifice my music style either – yes I admit, I am a bit selfish (a lot selfish, you be the judge!). Anyway, I found Kidz Bop CDs when I was searching for Travie McCoy on Amazon and I found out there was a much more kids friendly version of my song on the Kidz Bop 18 CD.

The great thing is that these songs are sung by kids for kids so they are all appropriate for little ears but they still have the same appeal (at least in my humble opinion) as the real songs we all know and love! It is a win/win!

I feel so much better now… I can go back to enjoying my music with a good conscience (at least for now!)

Target Toys 75% Off

target Blogs and forums are buzzing with reports that Target has many toys clearanced for 75% off, so head on over and check it out. I will be heading out later – hopefully when “Deal”icious Dad comes home so I will let you know if I find anything good.

Please keep in mind that not all Targets are on the same schedule for clearancing items so your local Target may not have toys on clearance yet (or they may have already clearanced them days ago) so head over at your own risk. I am just reporting this because many people are reporting this deal at many of their stores.

Let me know what you scored! So I can keep an eye out! BY the way I heard a lot of baby things were on clearance to so make sure to stop by there as well!
