Can you believe that Hostess Cupcakes have been around for 90 years? Yes, the yummy chocolate cupcakes with the white squiggles on them. I remember eating these when I was young and I love sharing these tasty treats with my kids now.  My son has his own personal way of eating his Hostess cupcake which I find both extremely lovable as well as a total nightmare. He eats the frosting and squiggle off the top.  Then breaks the cupcake into pieces to eat the cream out of the middle while he leaves crumbs of chocolate EVERYWHERE! My son then proceeds to tell me that I can have the rest! How very sweet of him, right?

Hostess’ slogan says that “You will get a  big delight in every bite!” and I would have to say that my family would have to agree with this statement. I know that I personally love it when my son leaves me a couple of “stray” bites to eat from his cupcake.

Some fun facts about these yummy cupcakes…The first cupcake was baked in 1919 and the famous “squiggles” across the top were added 30 years later. Also, Americans eat more than 600 million cupcakes every year. You know what this information tells me? It tells me that these Hostess cupcakes are very yummy since they can stick around this long. We must all still love our Hostess cupcakes after 90 years!
